The history of the FREIPLANA group began in Monte Arroio, São João das Lampas, in the 1980s, when José Monteiro Freitas used a backhoe loader to carry out small earthmoving jobs on his own.
In 1994, with the support of his sons, António Freitas and Paulo Freitas, FREIPLANA - Empreiteiros de Obras Públicas, Lda. was born, with the aim of becoming a benchmark company in the area of civil construction of public and private works, as well as other civil engineering work such as demolition and site preparation.
Ten years later, the FREIPLANA group expanded its business, giving birth to SBF - Sociedade de Britas da Fervença, Lda., located in Pêro Pinheiro, which extracts, transforms and sells marble and aggregates for the construction industry, with a quarry and crusher.
In 2008, after the start of the crisis in the construction sector, the FREIPLANA group was forced to restructure and find opportunities in the difficulties. Freiplana II - Transportes e Logística was born, dedicated to the road transportation of goods in Portugal and internationally to some European countries, such as Spain, France, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium.
